Laureate Selection Process

Eligibility

1. Individuals or organizations that have contributed significantly to the promotion of peace outlined in the Peace Mission affirmed by the Sunhak Peace Prize Committee.

2. The achievements of the individual or organization must have had a positive impact on the realization of peace for people of diverse nations, races, religions, or ideologies.

3. In the case of an individual, the nominee must be living at the time of nomination.

Candidate Nomination

1. Nominations from about 1,000 nomination committee members around the world.

2. Nominations submitted online by anyone.

Laureate Selection and Official Announcement

After careful review of the nominees on the short list, the Sunhak Peace Prize Committee makes the final selection and makes an official announcement through the media.

Review Process

The Sunhak Peace Prize Committee carefully reviews the nominees with support from the Secretariat and in consultation with experts to come up with a short list of the most promising candidates. The Committee meets periodically throughout the year for this purpose.
